Am I a cupcake craze?

Umm... what to start... I never thought that I will fall in love with decorating cupcakes. My very first cupcake decoration was vanilla cupcake with chocolate ganache frosting for my son first birthday. These chocolate cupcake had been my favorite sweet treat for awhile.

After I (and perhaps my son) got bored with chocolate ganache so I searched for butter-cream recipe and this was my first butter-cream frosting cupcake. Those time I didn't even have any single piping tip. So I simply did it by using spatula.

No doubt that soon enough I would get piping tips. I was a little confuse because there were so many of them available. With a little research, I decided to get Wilton 1M and 2D. As I wanted to try on my new piping tip so I offered to do birthday cupcakes for my friend's little princess who was going to have 3rd birthday party. They were simple swirl drop decorating (not even proper swirl!) and looked very beginner.

It has been just over a year now from my simple swirl up above. My decorating tips have been expanded and my cupcakes are looking prettier (at least I think anyway!)

They are so sweet together...

Let me zoom in some of them, I would say this one is my favorite among the lot.

This one is also easy to do yet very sweet.

Recently I started to make sugar flowers and butterfly just to decorate my cupcake. Though I must say that I don't think they taste as nice as the butter-cream. So I yet to do fondant icing cupcake!

As for this one I must admit that I wanted to make a proper rose. However as it turned out to be a cabbage flower instead! Never mind then I will try again.

Last one to show this time is this little flower which I have no idea what kind of flower it would be. When I just finished it I thought it was quite weird so I didn't want to take photo of it. However after I dropped some dragees on it then I changed my mind. I think it looks not too bad now.

enjoy!
